In an ironic twist, Bill Clinton is pleading with ABC to "tell the truth" about the lead-up to 9/11. Despite the ABC documentary's implication that Clinton was too distracted by his own lapsed sense of honesty to fight the looming terrorist threat, Clinton appears ready to resume his mantle of national truth-teller.

According to Clinton:

Whether it was the middle class tax cut I promised in 1992 or my national statement during the early days of the Lewinski matter, I have always been willing to take the heat for my actions and be forthcoming with the American people. It's time that ABC do the same.

In a written statement, ABC responded:
